Vasco Lima Mayer is an architect and designer based in Lisbon, where he founded his atelier in 2018. Rooted in a lifelong relationship with architecture, his practice is defined by a search for meaning — creating spaces that carry emotion, intention and quiet strength. Each project reflects a deeply personal approach, where spirituality and material precision coexist.
Born into a family of architects in Sintra, Vasco grew up understanding architecture not simply as construction, but as the act of shaping the soul of a place. After graduating from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2015 and collaborating with renowned architect João Pedro Falcão de Campos, he refined his sensitivity to proportion, detail and context. In 2018, he opened his own studio, driven by the desire to author spaces that feel both timeless and deeply human.
Vasco’s work is distinguished by its millimetric attention to detail and its seamless balance between refined design and functional comfort. He approaches each commission as a complete narrative — from architecture to furniture — believing that meaning resides even in the smallest gestures. This philosophy extended into the creation of Fuschini, a furniture brand co-founded with Sara Oom de Sousa, producing pieces entirely made in Portugal. Across his growing portfolio, a consistent thread emerges: architecture as an intimate, passionate and spiritual experience.
