Studio Mirante is a Lisbon-based ceramic studio founded by artists Margaux Carel and Clotilde de Kersauson. Rooted in a shared sensitivity to form, texture and materiality, the studio explores the quiet power of clay through sculptural objects that feel both timeless and tactile.

Guided by an appreciation for imperfection, process and presence, Studio Mirante creates pieces that blur the line between function and expression. Each object holds the memory of the hand, the rhythm of making, and the passage of time, offering a contemplative approach to design grounded in restraint and intimacy.

Paris-born and Lisbon-based, Margaux Carel works in clay with a distinctly organic sensibility. With a background spanning photography, fashion and interior design, her sculptural practice draws inspiration from nature’s fleeting states; raw, dramatic and serene. Her forms echo the stillness and emotional depth of the Alpine landscapes she observed in childhood. Rooted in a meditative process, her work balances weight and lightness, presence and impermanence.

A former textile designer, Clotilde de Kersauson launched her first ceramic collection in Lisbon after studying at Arco. Her practice centres on the candlestick as a singular, recurring form. Each piece is thrown on the wheel and then hand-altered, creating variations that are nearly anthropomorphic in their individuality. Left unglazed, the surface retains every mark and gesture; an honest, evolving record of the object’s making and use.
